gender: male
date of birth: 2005
breed: jack russell terrier/pug mix
adoption story: A friend of mine had adopted Champ from a shelter when he was about a year old. He ended up having issues with children in the household, so he went to live with one of her family members for a couple of years. When he was about six, the family member decided that they could no longer keep him, so he ended up back with my friend. By this point, she had a child of her own, and because of his unpredictable nature around children, she asked if I could keep him until we could figure out a permanent home for him. Champ moved in with me in March 2011, and I tried earnestly to find him a new home, to no avail. Within a couple of months, I realized that he had already found his forever home with me.
name story: My friend had named him Champ when she originally adopted him, and since he was already six when he came to me, I thought it would be too confusing to try to change it (had I known how easily he would respond to Bubba when I started using that as a nickname, I would have probably picked a new name for him). Matthew as a middle name came from a friend who said that he had to have a middle name since all of my other pets did... and Gregory was slapped on there by my husband, who thought he should share a middle name with my father.
fun facts: Champ is super smart, and has always been quick to pick up new tricks, despite being a bit older.
favorite things: snuggling with mommy and daddy. Visiting Pop-Pop (my dad). Car rides. Going for walks. Getting individual attention from mommy and daddy.
dislikes: When the puppies are being too boisterous. Most other dogs.
