adoption story: when I decided that I was ready to buy or adopt a dog, I was browsing craigslist, and came upon a post about a puppy for sale. she had had a home lined up, and the people had backed out for some reason. I immediately sent an email asking if they would hold her until my next day off, which was a few days later. I drove about an hour to pick her up, and paid fifty dollars for her - best fifty dollars I've ever spent!

name story: I browsed baby name sites looking for a name before I picked her up. I stumbled across Madden, which means "little dog." I had it narrowed down to that or Mopsy, which had been the name of my childhood dog. When I picked her up, I felt like Madden was a better fit.

fun facts: Madden broke her front right leg at five months old, and has basically been a spoiled princess baby ever since. She's also missing a lot of teeth in her old age (and will be having even more extracted in the near future), so her little tongue hangs out most of the time - it's both pitiful and adorable.

favorite things: cuddling with mommy and daddy. Being under the blankets. Soft treats. Pizza crusts. Heating pads. Her Pop Pop (my dad). Car rides sitting on her daddy's lap. Her brother Champ.

dislikes: things that beep or ding. When the other dogs are being noisy. Being bothered by the other dogs.

Madden when she was about ten weeks old
