breed: not sure, probably shih tzu/some sort of terrier mix. His father has some jack russell in him, and that seems like it might be his dominant breed looks-wise. Eventually, I want to do a DNA test on one of the puppies to figure it all out!
birth story: (will be the same for Patrick and Bader) Tucker had an appointment to get neutered, but it got canceled due to COVID. We weren't able to schedule him before Abby went back into heat, and, well, nature happened again. As soon as I thought the breeding might have resulted in a pregnancy, I predicted that the baby or babies would be born on the 25th of July, around 1AM. My husband nudged me awake at about 2:30 AM to tell me he heard crying. I got up, and Abby was nursing two puppies. I checked them over to make sure they were okay. Two perfect little girls - one solid white, and one a dark brown, similar to Ben as a newborn. I waited up for two hours or so, and no more puppies came, so I went back to bed. I got up again around 6:00 AM, and there were still just two little girl puppies nursing, so I went back to bed. Around 9:00 AM, I heard more puppy whimpering, so I got up to make sure the girls were okay. Much to my shock, there was a third puppy nursing - white with a little brown spot on his butt. Next to him were the white one and a dark one, but I noticed that the dark one didn't seem like the same one I had seen earlier - and these three weren't crying. Wrapped up in the blanket in Abby's crate were two more puppies - the dark girl she had had earlier, and another. I'm not sure now if Bader was the one wrapped in the blanket with the girl, or if he was the one nursing, because there were two boys that were practically identical at first.
name story: My husband and I have a stupid inside joke about the actor Patrick Duffy. We say that he's Champ's favorite actor, and that Champ thinks that every guy that sort of looks like him must be Patrick Duffy (we have voices for our dogs, and will jokingly create personas for them, and it's really ridiculous but also hilarious to us). I had said that Patrick would be cute for the puppy, as we could call him Patch/Patches for short... so of course the husband suggested that his full name be Patrick Duffy.
fun facts: Patrick tends to be everyone's favorite - everyone comments on how cute he is when his little Patch over his eye. Somehow, though, when we were giving the puppies to new homes, no one picked him - but, we wanted him so much because... well... look at him! Despite being a short haired little guy, he makes the same facial expressions as Tucker.
favorite things: Wrestling with Bader and Ben. Hard plastic toys.
dislikes: Being held on his back. Having his feet touched.
